LA FABULEUSE EPICERIE
It is on Avenue des Oliviers, in the heart of Cros de Cagnes, the liveliest district in the town of Cagnes sur Mer, that you will find the Fabuleuse Epicerie.
This grocery shop is the meeting place for gourmets: local products, French and foreign gastronomy, sweets and chocolates, teas and coffees from around the world...
Daniel and Valérie, the creators, have sought out the best products from renowned craftsmen and producers in France and Europe in order to offer them close to home.
Of all the passions, the only really respectable one seems to me to be greed.
Guy de Maupassant
Artisans de qualité
"Our producers and craftsmen are our partners: we work with them in confidence, and we pay a lot of attention to the quality of the products, to traditional manufacturing, without additives or food additives" says Valérie
About the Producers and Artisans
Maison Lembert - PERIGORD
Since 1940, at Maison Lembert, foie gras and the Périgord have been their roots and their source of professional inspiration. They pass on this passion for taste that they have tirelessly enriched for 4 generations.
For the second year running, their sterilised whole duck foie gras from the Périgord region won a gold medal at the Paris agricultural competition. Medals which nicely complete a series of different awards obtained and thus bring the series to more than 30 medals in 17 years... From these ducks are made rillettes, terrines and cooked dishes. So it's very good !
Groix & Nature - BRITTANY
Groix & Nature makes rillettes, ready-made meals, soups and dishes with passion on the island of Groix. A passion for people, the sea and the land. The story of Groix & Nature is first and foremost that of a territory: the island of Groix in Southern Brittany. Fifteen men and women, proud of their roots, make all the Groix & Nature recipes from raw materials that come mainly from local fishing.
L'Artisan Popol - PROVENCE
A specialist in culinary flavours since 1977, the Popol brand is a reference in the field of fine foods. Their products are home-made and concocted in their premises next to the Paul Ricard circuit in Signes, in the Var. Their motto: Authenticity, quality, tradition and promotion of our regional heritage.
Jérôme GUCEMAS - TARN
Family business created in 1996 and managed by Louis GUCEMAS. Originally from the south of Spain, Louis Gucemas started growing chickpeas. The company very quickly became one of the leaders in chickpea production in France. In 2003, Jérôme, Louis' son, took over the management of the company, which took a new turn by offering a complete range of dried vegetables packaged in small bags. By-products such as chickpea flour, ready-made meals and hummus are also offered to local and regional customers.
Les Délices du Roy Albert (Vence) : Artisanal confectionery manufacturer since 1951 - PROVENCE
The family business was founded in 1903 in Dour, Belgium, and for two generations developed the confectionery trade throughout northern France. After the war, the family settled permanently in Champagne and named their business "Nougats du Roi Albert" in memory of the soldier King Albert 1st.
In 1951, the grandfather, who was then a shopkeeper, started to make his own recipes for nougats, berlingots and croquante, for which he obtained several diplomas and medals.
The following generations migrated to the south of France, adapting to local flavours and diversifying their recipes while preserving the ancestral know-how and the quest for excellence.
This is how "Nougats du Roi Albert" became "Délices du Roy Albert" over the years.
Chocolaterie Marcellin : Chocolate maker since 1926 in Levens (06) - PROVENCE
In 1926, the Marcellin brothers took over a traditional confectionery created in 1892. They quickly specialised in the manufacture of chocolate sweets.
The Chocolaterie Marcellin in Levens invites you to rediscover the history of chocolate and cocoa through its history page. Indeed, chocolate was born a very long time ago and the whole art of producing and making it required years of research and know-how.
Their chocolates are guaranteed to contain no fats other than cocoa butter, nor any preservatives, using only the finest products (almonds, hazelnuts, sugar...)
Le Domaine de Baudry - AUVERGNE
It is an Artisan Confiturier since 1953. It is in Auvergne that we found him.
The Baudry have their own orchards and use two products for their jams: fruit and sugar. Nothing else! Created by Caroline Baudry, their range of 80 jams, honey and sweets is exceptional: refined but traditional... in a word: fabulous!
AURIAN : The Artiste Liquoriste - GERS
One hundred years after its great-great-grandfather, who in 1880 traded the noble spirit of Armagnac, Maison Aurian began to develop recipes for aperitifs and liqueurs in the heart of the generous and fertile land of the Gers. Artisans at heart, they still advocate the values of excellence and boldness in the development of new recipes. Still a family business, they make more than 200 tests per year, distilled down to a handful, which allows them to offer only the best to all those who appreciate real and authentic products.
